Abstract:

The thyroid cartilage window was first reported in English literature in 1916. Since then use of the thyroid cartilage window has been extended to a variety of laryngeal pathologies. We want to describe 3 different functions of thyroid cartilage window which include anterior cricoid split reconstruction using thyroid cartilage graft, the use of the thyroid cartilage window in obtaining
diagnostic squamous cell carcinoma tissue for a case of laryngeal carcinoma and the traditional application in medialization thyroplasty procedure.
